Facts

Uniquely beautiful, we spend a memorable morning ensconced in the crater, exploring its breadth and depth

2 Days/ 1 Night Ngorongoro Crater Safari is a short overnight wildlife holiday to Ngorongoro Crater – an extinct volcanic caldera in the Eastern Great Rift Valley, northern Tanzania. It lies 75 miles (120 kilometers) west of the town of Arusha. The first view takes your breath away.

The Crater is home to populations of Lion, Leopard and Hyena along with good herds of wildebeest, buffalo and zebra. Other game in the Ngorongoro includes serval cat, cheetah, jackal, Grant’s and Thompson’s gazelle, flamingo and bat eared foxes along with approximately 400 species of bird.

A trip to Northern Tanzania has to include the Ngorongoro, it is an exceptional place to interact with the Masai and is one of the most beautiful natural wildlife safari sites in the world. The Ngorongoro Crater and surrounding highlands are one of Africa’s most beautiful regions.

Volcanic craters form stunning backdrops to some of the richest grazing grounds in Africa. The most famous is without question the Ngorongoro Crater, the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera; home to the highest density of big game in Africa.

With 600 metre high walls and a rich volcanic floor that plays host to the big five, the Ngorongoro is one of the continent’s most famous safari destinations.

Ngorongoro Crater spectacular setting and abundance of wildlife combine to make it a wonder of the natural world. Animals are free to leave or enter the crater but most of them stay because of the plentiful water and food available on the crater floor throughout the year

PACKAGE DETAILS

Depart Arusha by road and head to Ngorongoro Crater—one of the natural wonders of the world. A spectacular game haunt, the 102-square-mile crater is a perfect caldera, one of the largest on earth.

Millions of years ago a smoldering volcano collapsed, creating the crater and a home for thousands of animals amidst its many types of vegetation grown and nourished over the centuries. Over 30,000 animals live here: prides of lion, elephant, leopard, cheetah and giraffe, gazelle by the thousands and multitudes of wildebeest.
