Masai Mara is the most popular park in Kenya as it contains all of the big 5 (lion, elephant, rhino, buffalo, and leopard) and it is home to the great wildebeest migration. Lake Nakuru is a bird lover’s dream. Here you will find over 400 species of birds, over 500 species of plants, and more than 50 species of mammals. Lake Naivasha is unique in that it features an extinct volcano, a thick forest, hundreds of Umbrella Acacia trees, and is home to Mt Longonot.
Amboseli is the only park that provides a great view of Mt Kilimanjaro. Tsavo East and West National Parks provide great diversity in landscapes. The East has flat, dry plains, the Galana River, the Yatta Plateau and Luggard Falls. The West is more mountainous and wetter, with swamps, Lake Jipe and the Mzima Springs.
Lake Manyara is a ground water forest with bush plains, baobab strewn cliffs, and algae streaked hot springs create a beautiful setting for rich wildlife and a huge variety of birds. Ngorongoro Crater is the only park where people and animals live side by side. Serengeti National Park is most famous for its annual migration of white-bearded wildebeest and zebra. Tarangine National Park contains hundreds of bird species and the largest variety of African animals. This includes the famous tree climbing lions in the baobab trees.
